Please consider supporting our research
Many thanks for visiting our pages and your interest in suicide research and prevention. If you are interested in supporting our research, the Suicidal Behaviour Research Laboratory (SBRL) welcomes donations of any size.
Mental health research is chronically under-funded and funding for suicide research is in an even worse position. It has recently been estimated (by MQ Mental Health Research) that for every £1 the government invests in mental health research, the general public gives 1/3 of a penny (0.3p) compared to £2.75 for cancer research and £1.35 for research focused on the heart.
We need more high quality research to better identify those at risk of suicide and we need to develop more effective interventions to help those who are especially vulnerable.
If you are interested in finding out more about donating to the SBRL, there are two different ways to do so:
- If you would like to make a one-off donation, you can do so via the SBRL’s JustGiving page on the University of Glasgow Trust donation pages (Charity Registration No. SC008303). We have only recently set up this option.
- If you would like to arrange ongoing donations or bequests or to make a donation in a different way, please contact us to discuss: Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
